Hello, and welcome to Painted Water Therapy!

Fáilte! (That’s ‘Welcome’ in Irish.)

I’m truly excited to introduce my new website to you. This project has been a labor of love, taking quite a bit of time to come together. I’ve been collaborating closely with my good friend Brie James; she’s featured on my collaborations page with women-owned businesses. Bringing this site to life has been such a rewarding experience, and at one point, I told Brie, “This website is a portfolio of my heart‘s work.” I honestly believe that.

With over a decade of experience spanning—Western nutrition science, Traditional Chinese Medicine Eastern food energetics, medical massage therapy, energetic bodywork, and herbalism—I’m also a lifelong artist and musician. More recently, over the past six years, I’ve been immersed in learning the Irish language. These passions have beautifully intertwined, inspiring and supporting me along the way. It brings me great joy to highlight the link between creativity and the healing arts here on my site, Painted Water Therapy.

Recently, I’ve decided to step back from social media for my healing practices. I truly value setting boundaries—something I see reflected beautifully in my acupuncturist, who chooses not to promote on social media but instead builds community through personal connections and referrals.

Of course, social media still offers a wonderful way to stay in touch with friends around the globe and share thoughts, feelings, and creations. But for now, I want to focus my energy on this website as my main platform. Life naturally comes in phases, and I'm happy to embrace this one.

This blog is my way of staying connected and sharing insights. I also run a newsletter where I share my blog updates and inform you about upcoming events—from sound baths and tarot readings to holistic nutrition workshops, solstice celebrations, music, gallery shows and more. I love engaging with the community through fun, meaningful gatherings, and I believe sharing my work this way is important.

Painted Water Therapy is a name close to my heart. I’m originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I’ve had the privilege of spending significant time in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, as well as winter camping on the Iron Range. Along these adventures in nature, I participated in sweat lodge ceremonies, during which I received a name in my youth and another in my late 20s. While my names are sacred and spoken only during ceremony, I can share that the words "painted water” are part of them. To me, these words symbolize color, movement, and emotion—reminding me daily of the natural beauty around us and within our hearts, inspiring me to observe with care, listen deeply, and work in harmony with nature and others.

I sincerely hope this website inspires you. Thank you for stopping by and exploring what I have to offer to support our community. I feel most in my element when I’m helping others and contributing creatively to the world.

Warmly,

Kelsey
